Hot Water Heater Switch

I installed one, too. In the 3400, I installed in the kitchen below counter area that butts to the wall. Behind the paneling was the wire to the hot water heater, and I spliced and put in a box and similar switch. Now, when we are in an area with poor power, or on generator, or paying for electricity, we can turn it off when needed.

And, like you, I was always worried about burning up the element and didn't like removing the outside panel all the time.
