Info on Broken GRAY Water Tank

2012 Montana 3455/SA ( 2 Gray water tanks 1 Black water tank)We left the water on in our Bathroom sink. needless to say we heard a big crash and water started to come out on the sides of the bottom panel. My question is, does the pipe(from sink/shower) going into the tanks ATTACH firmly or is it loose. There is plenty of play in the pipe. We had this happen with our black water tank a couple of years ago. Has anybody used FLEX TAPE or FLEX SEAL on any cracked GRAY WATER TANKS?

I have an 2011 3455sa. I have been all over my unit from top to bottom. Last summer I installed all new valterra valves. The tanks drains and vent lines are glued in place. These tanks have a history of leaking from being over filled. The tanks are a 2 piece design glued together at the top. If you have a leaking seam at the top it should not leak while set up as long as it is not filled up tp that point. May leak a little on the way to the dump station though. I have heard of people trying to patch them but a new tank is the only real fix. For this reason I NEVER fill anywhere near its capacity and NEVER travel with anything in the waste tanks.

The pipes are glued hard to the fittings on the tanks. Where is the tank broken? The answer will determine what repair is needed. I had a crack that developed on the bottom of our gray tank, and I was able to make a repair with a Plast-Mend kit that fuses to the ABS plastic these tanks are made of. To prevent future failures, I added braces across under the frame and installed blocking between the braces and the bottom of both the gray and black tanks. I doubt with the weight of water in these tanks, the Flex products would be strong enough for a reliable repair

The two piece tanks are not mounted by Keystone according to the manufacturer of the tank. Those tanks hang on braces and if they do not fit snugly against the tank, failure is a matter of time. It gives the tank builder a bad rep but not their fault. Bracing under those tanks really is simple and effective.
