Apple Support

While camping in Charleston, SC my iPad quit charging. I called Apple support and they got me an appt at the Apple Store downtown Charleston. Wait for almost an hour and tech told me that one of the brass contacts in charging port was bent. Even though it was still under warrantee, this wasn't covered. All he could do was offer replacement for $249. It is less than 10 months old. What good is the warrantee? Called back to support and they want me to send to them for examination. If they say it was accidental, they will replaced for $249. I may be getting rid of all my Apple products.

If you can, go to a different Apple store. This is unlike any service we have had in the many years we have owned Apple products. Generally it is just the opposite.

I'm with Jim on this one. We have had nothing but good to outstanding service from Apple. We've visited two different Apple stores in two different cities. Also have had the opportunity to use their online service a couple of times. Good luck. Dennis

X3, we've never had that type of problem with Apple, on the other hand Steve Jobs was still alive.

I am sending it back as they requested. I hope that they will do the right thing. Thanks for the positive comments.
