Rear inside camera

I have a 2017 Silverado 3500 HD towing a 2018 3731FL Montana and looking to find a rear camera for inside the back of my truck to monitor when hooking up to the hitch.
Any tips would be appreciated.

Ford has had backup cameras for hitching 5th wheels and goosenecks as an option since 2017-- just had to get the dig in

seriously though--just get a backup camera and instead of mounting it at the very back, put a magnet on in and set it on the roof

a quick search seems to indicate that there are cargo/bed cameras available for GM trucks. They are built into the 3rd brake light bezel at the top of the cab.

i do not understand the need for a rear camera for hooking up?

but then i am a 35 year long class A truck driver. and the past 3 years have been working the yard goat, just moving trailers around 12 hrs a night.
i hook up a good 100 or so times each shift.

all one needs is to know are the markers to align up right. back up slowly to lightly bump. roll forward a touch and done. even for a tt. just have the trailer hitch set correct, so it glides onto your ball.
and i only use the left mirror to see what i am doing to hook up. truck is so wide. trailers are so wide, just back up where they "fit" each other. guess too easy? at least for me.

Being a 35 yr trucker I’am sure you could do it with your eyes closed. No pun intended.
The reason I would like a camera is because it’s a 5th wheel and my dually is also 4whl drive so it sits kind of high in the rear plus it’s a 8’ long bed and I’am unable to see the hitch to line up the pin.So a camera would make it a lot easier from inside backing up.
Not having anyone to guide me is a hassle getting in and out of truck multiple times.
I have since installed a camera inside over the rear window and it’s perfect.

Wink

no need to see the pin to hook up. just using a sight "marker" on how the truck lines up with the rv body as seen from your drivers door mirror does the trick.
when i train nu-bee's i have to break them of the habit of using both mirrors and turning there head around. as they are always twisted doing all that. heck had one he kept wagging the dog to back up.

i have a f250 short bed 4X4. stock height. i do not try looking at the pin. just how the pu lines up with the rv.
i can see how a camera might help, but how i have been doing for so long it would just be in my way.
but makes me wonder. i have a traffic cam front and rear facing. could this be used as such via my cell phone?

and yes i have gotten many a place down the hwy with my eyes closed

I just use my Inside Rearview Mirror, It sets high enough to see the hitch and king pin, from my seat in my 4x4 Dually.

I have two cameras in the back of our 2018 Ram. I don't use the one for the fifth wheel i just turn my head I can see the hitch just fine even with it being a 4 door truck. I do use the one in the tailgate when backing up to a wall.

I used to turn around and look over my shoulder to backup. I would have to straighten my legs to push myself up to see the hitch.

Well after getting a temporary tattoo on my shin from the brake pedal. I use the center headrest and button to lower the step in the bumper to rough it in. Then I use the 3rd brake camera zoomed in to watch it hitch and the cam lever move into place.
