Interstate 10 from FL to TX
Getting things done so we can leave here about the 13th of March, was wondering if interstate 10 is passable across Mississippi and LA. Have anyone traveled that way sense all the storms?
Thanks for all information.

Linda, I 10 has been getting better over the past couple of years. Not sure how much they have done, but hear that there are still sections that are pretty rough. If you can find other roads, you might think about it. Sections of 20, specially around Shreveport are kinda nasty too. If you take em, you are probably gonna have to slow down.
When ya leaving???

Being from Louisiana and having travelled manny miles on I-10 I can with full confidence tell you this. When you get into Louisiana,,SLOW DOWN,,, that first section of I-10 getting to N.O. is like a roller coaster. If I were just passing through I would take I-12 to Baton Rouge and then I-10 on the other side.

I agree. Do that northern bypass, I-12, and pick up I-10 on the western side skipping New Orleans altogether unless, of course, you want to explore the city. I have traveled that route often and would use it even without the hurricane damage. It cuts a major amount of time out of the trip across Louisiana.
