A couple of years ago (on a trip from East Texas to California) we spent our first night at the Serenity Ranch RV Park. [On checking just now it seems to have become the Weatherford KOA.] It was fine for an overnight stop.

BTW, in 15 years of traveling in a fifth-wheel we have never stayed in a Walmart--have often parked there for lunch or shopping, but never overnight.

Having stayed in Deming many times I would have an alternative to the Walmart lot ready. By early in the afternoon the trucks and big rigs start showing up in there and at times it's hard to find a parking spot to shop. We're Escapee's and stay at the Escapee park in Deming when we're there. Cheap but not fancy.

Any truck stop would be okay if you get in by about 4:30 pm. We often Wal-dock or boon-dock when we are scootin' and movin'

There's also a WalMart in Hudson Oaks just east of Weatherford right off I-20. This is newer than the Weatherford Main St. one - bigger parking lot.

Just south of Weatherford is a nice RV Park in Granbury, TX, by the name of Bennett's RV Ranch. We have friends in that area and have stayed in that park several times including right about a month ago.

If you enjoy history, right next to Granbury is Acton, TX. Like 4 miles from Granbury. In the cemetery there is Texas' "smallest state park" which surrounds the gravesite of Davy Crockett's widow. After his death she accepted the offer of a land grant in Texas to families of those who lost their lives at the Alamo. Her land grant was at Acton. Just a historical tidbit of interest. Enjoy your trip.
