That's how long it took to clean my roof. I used Protect All Roof Cleaner and found it to be a good product. Had my roof not been so dirty, it would not have taken so long. Mildew spots were prevalent. Mopping with a sponge mop worked on all the crud except for the mold. Mold required a scrub brush, but the most of it came up too. Now I have a shiny white roof again.

After having done this is the past and in need of doing it again, I am curious if there is any kind of sealer that is available that would help to keep the roof clean and help to minimize or eliminate the ever prevalent black streaks? Wouldn't it be nice if there was a hard sealer available that would allow us to merely hose off the roof going forward! Wonder if I am dreaming or if such a product is readily available? Ours isn't too bad yet, and even though you are inspiring me Stiles, I think I will wait a while.

Protect All has a companion product to their cleaner, which goes on easily and helps with UV rays and helps keep it clean as well as free from chalk marks. It only lasts about 3 months, but I get three coats out of a gallon jug. Goes on easily, and takes about 10-15 minutes. For the life of me, can not remember exactly what they call it, but always on the shelf right next to the their cleaner product.

I wonder how the stuff used to clean awnings would work?

Bingo, don't wait. Waiting makes it harder. Retired, it is Protect All Roof Treatment. That is next. Don't know, Corattler, but this does work. To those who would have me come, the cost would be prohibitive for you. All that diesel fuel and camping fees, then my professional fees of $125/hr because one must charge for advanced degrees (I went to the doctor today not related to the roof).
