Manual Operation of Slides

Has anyone attempted to operate their slides manually? When we first took our Montana home, I was playing with the new toy and decided to attempt to open the slides manually as shown in the owner's manual...well, if I had the patience to continue that process, I would still be standing outside with the drill turning. Anyone try this???? If so, do you have any better luck with the slides opening at better speed???

I had the slide motor burn out on my new montana the first time I tried to use it. Turned out the ground wire was loose. I closed three slides using a plug in 18V drill. It went in swiftly and smoothly. I tried a cordless drill first and it died before one slide had gone in. I forget what voltage the cordless was, but it wasnt 18

Sounds like the cordless drill I was using may not have had enough power for the job???? Need to try that again since I would probably be relying on a cordless drill on the road if there was a problem closing slides.

Good idea Thor but we don't carry a generator...maybe if Camilla lets me buy a new 2011 Ford with installed 110 power inverter that would do the trick! Of course, no chance of that.
