Lajitas - Back to Public

There was an article in the San Antonio Sunday paper that said Lajitas has been converted back to a public--not private--town with RV parking for $29. Has anyone been to Lajitas in Big Bend recently to confirm the story?? The website for Lajitas still shows it as a private - BIG BUCKS-- outfit.

I read a while back the town was up for auction, no buyers at that reading, haven't heard anything since. IMHO the folks that developed the town didn't do any favors, the locals were not pleased either. Was there last April. Still private.
