Campground by Goshen
We are traveling east on hwy. 90 then to 80 and would like to find a campground a few hours west of Goshen. Can anybody recommend a campground for Sat. night?

We spent a few days at "The Last Resort" near Hanna, IN. It is on US 30 just west of US 421.
It is not a fancy place, but quite adequate for an overnight stay. They have some pull throughs with water, sewer, and 30 amp power. (There are two campgrounds with that name in Indiana, make sure you get the one near Hanna).

There is one in Joliet just off 80. I can't remember the name but if you leave there early on Sunday you should be able to get through Chicago easely and quickly.

We stayed at Liesure Lakes in Joliet. It is at the intersection of I 80 and I 55.
It is a Passport America park. A bit noisy with the interstate traffic but it is only 1 night.
From Joliet to Goshen is about 125 miles.
They have direction and a map to get there but here is a better version.
Their directions will be in BLACK and I'll tweak them in RED
FROM I-80 West of Joliet, take I-55 NORTH to Exit 253. Turn west LEFT AT END OF RAMP and go a short distance to Rte. 59. which is the first traffic light. Turn south (left) and travel one mile to Frontage Road. Turn right onto Frontage Rd. IF YOU MISS THIS TURN YOU WILL BE BACK ON I-55 and travel two miles PAY NO ATTENTION TO THE DEAD END SIGNS to the entrance of the resort on the right (first entrance after I-80 underpass.)

Thanks for the help.
The campground in Joliet is the one we were thinking about, just wasn't sure how far it would be from Goshen.

It wasn't the greatest but it wasn't the worst either. The biggest problem was it's location. Not that easy to get to considering it is right at 2 interstates and the interstate truck traffic. But than again aren't all overnight CGs next to an interstate or railroad??
When you leave go back up the Frontage road and be ready to make a wide swing to get on I-55 south or you'll have to go back up to exit 253.

Thanks again Glenn. We are in Rapid City, SD tonight and are 200' from train tracks which is next to hwy 90. The good part is we can't hear the traffic on hwy because of the trains.
Looking foreword to seeing everyone Sunday.

Thanks John. We probably don't have enough time to get there, wish we did. See you at the rally.

Those trains will get you ready for the Elkhart fairgrounds. Right by the crossing.

Don and Joy,
If you are planning on heading southbound on I-29 to I-80, might I suggest the I-680E bypass to detour around the Omaha, NE traffic. I hope you enjoyed your stay in Rapid City, I sure miss it.

We were woke up at 3:30 this morning at the fairgrounds in Elkhart. I swear they had a train go by every 1/2 hour until about 7am and the Engineer's wanted to say hello to all of us via horns and whistles turned up as loud as they would go. By the time the Montana Rally starts, we probably won't even hear them. (I HOPE)

We were considering going that way and after your input we will. Thanks
Helen
Maybe I can make some gas money by selling ear plugs.

If you are planning on going to the Keystone facility in Goshen for repairs they have hookups on site. Judy

I thought about that Nailbender but you need a lot more than ear plugs. I take my hearing aids out at night and they still wake me up. Boy, they have loud whistles. Funny thing is though, during the day you don't even hear them.
