Fort Stockton RV Park

We are on our way West. First night's stopover. Weather pretty good until this afternoon and then got windy. We head to Deming NM tomorrow.

Glad to see that you altered your planned route and are no longer taking the "Northern Route." Hopefully you will have much better weather than we have. We wish you safe travels.

Myrna and Bob,
So where in Fort Stockton are you? We stayed at a run down little thing called Comanche RV Park. No pool, not paved, but full hookups and the price was right. It was $16 per night. This was our second most used park! Stopped both coming and going. Found a couple of interesting places to eat.

It was windy most of the time we were there but not awful. Drive safely and we'll see you on down the road.

Dennis: Fort Stockton RV Park is at exit 264. East of the Comanche Park. Your price was better... this was 27.00 with the Good Sam discount. It used to be a KOA park and is about the right distance from Bastrop for our first day. Next time we might consider the Comanche park, as we just want a place to hang our hats. Tonight we are in the Escapees park at Deming, NM. We fought a head wind all day and almost ran out of diesel. It was consuming it much faster than we had figured. On to Casa Grande tomorrow night.
Jim: the wind is blowing here also. The only difference is that it is warmer. Hope you are not held up any longer.

Myrna and Bob,
We missed you by a day. We were at the same place on April 30th. Yesterday and today we are at Hacienda RV Resort in Las Cruces. Tomorrow will be Tucson, maybe 2 days, then on to San Diego.

Well shucks!!!!

Don't remember where the ex-KOA was but glad you made it on to Deming. We were looking to fuel up in Deming on our way to Kerrville and ended up running into Dennis and Sharon and Jennifer right in front of the Escapees park! Small world. Will you be staying in the SKP park in Casa Grande?

Travel safely and see you soon.

I don't know yet about the SKP park in Casa Grande. We were hoping to find a park with pull throughs so we wouldn't have to unhook. There is a PA park there and would be about the same price (13.50), but it is all back ins also. We may try it, just to see what it is like. We usually stay at an ROD park, which has pull throughs and is free with our membership. But they close up for the summer on April 30. That is what we get for starting out later.

Bob--I think you were out of Texas before the SNOW hit the Davis Mountains this past weekend. I can imagine the wind was an issue. Heading west in '08 for the Tucson Rally we hit alot of head winds too! Really kills mileage. Have a safe trip and keep us posted on where you will be in WA for the Summer--we will be in WA in September.

Tim and Susan

Wayne: sorry we missed you at Ft. Stockton. We have stayed at the Hacienda before and it is a really nice park.
Tim & Susan: We will be on Samish Island at our church campgrounds as asst caretakers for the summer. We have a couple of trips planned.. Memorial Day will find us at the Ocean (Copalis) and the middle of August we will spend a week at Maryhill (east of Portland on the Columbia River) at the State Park. We camp with some friends and feast on peaches.
