Seeing how a few pounds here and there really adds up, I think I'm gonna look at getting rid of the 100-pound-spare-spare-tire and all glassware.

Glassware is heavy and the thought of cleaning up broken glassware doesn't sound good either.

I might have to trim down the tools department too. Can't see what I'll need my miter saw and table saw for, when I've got a cordless circular saw and a speed square.

Kitchen gadgets. Uggh. Another department I have to trim down. Rice cooker, Instant Pot, Vitamix, and Mr. Coffee have to stay. I could make rice in the Instant Pot but it's not as good. Hmmm... craigslist the toaster oven, stick blender, Cuisinart? No, not my Cuisinart! Ah, this is hard!

I haven't yet outfitted my trailer yet (just bought it last Friday), even if I come in way under the trailer GVWR on the scales, I'd like to be as light as possible. Plus a major reason I wanted to have the RV and full-time was to have less stuff, much less stuff.

Just trying to get an idea of how much cargo is typical.
The weight spec from keystone says 12,180 dry. That weight was taken when loaded for a week long trip, full propane, 20 or so gallons of water, food, etc. truck full of fuel. So 1500-1600 pounds sounds like a lot but I wonder how accurate the keystone spec is. Anyway it was good to get a baseline.

All our stuff does add weight, we find that we occasionally need to get rid of some stuff that just gets hauled and not used. Personal choices here for weight control and reminds me of our backpacking days when some would cut the handle off of toothbruch.

Perfect Butch & Kathy! We plan on hitting the CAT scale once we get our Montana, and load it. Would rather be safe than sorry.

Depends on how you use the RV a full timer or a long timer like us will run a lot heavier than a weekender or a low end user. Load what you think you need weigh the RV then start unloading the things you may not need. It is trial and error for awhile.

As far as your dishes go we bought a set for four or you can buy them separately of Corelle from Walmart they are lightweight and supposedly unbreakable.

Purdue Weight Calculator

Has anyone used this calculator? (see attached). I am wondering how accurate it is?

We weighed our present rig in 2013 at the Fall MOC Rally.Since we are long timers we run heavy. We were within all specs with some room to spare. That is our base weight and will will not vary much so we do not weigh on a regular biases.

The first time we weighed our 2006 3400 which is pretty much the same RV as this 3402 at the fall rally we were 700 lbs over weight yes I said 700 lbs. We nearly had a heart attack and went on a serious weight reduction program when we got home.

I recall that we unloaded over 300 lbs of tools most of which I did know how to use. We also had the Mor Ryde IS system installed the 8K issue. We have done the same with this 2013 3402
