Optiflame Fireplace

The fireplace in our rig has been getting quite a work-out lately, being in the Tetons for the summer and we are noticing that it is overheating and popping off after 1 hour of use. I know it is probably dirty (4 years old). Anyone have suggestions about how to remove from rig cabinet, wood plugs are pretty tight. I know I have seen posts about how others have done maintanence on thier fireplaces, but doing a search nothing really comes up. This forum always pulls thru with the answers. Thanks Teresa

There was no way I could see to remove the wood plugs with out destroying them so I took a small screw and screwed it into the plug and then wiggled the plug out using the screw as a handle. Then its just a simple matter of removing the outer screws and mine (Dimplex) had 2 screws into the side of the fireplace found by removing the glass. The fireplace just slides out of the cabinet once the screws are removed and you can unplug it and move it out into the room to do any work on it you want.

I had to buy a package of wooden plugs that contained 25 plugs! I used 4 & now I have enough to take fireplace apart 5 more times! LOL

Yes, it's easy to remove once you do it. Probably should be done once a year if it is used a lot....we do.
