Roof Cleaning ??

We spent this morning cleaning the Montana to get ready for our camping next week. Wanted it to sparkle as this will be the first time we have shared the unit with our children and grandchildren. We have rented two sites at Stone Mountain Park, GA and the kids will be camping next to us. I seem to have become the official roof cleaner while Tom does the remainder of the outside. So my question is on controling that water hose while you are on the roof. I climb up the ladder to the roof and Tom hands me up the hose with the long handled brush attached. I spray the rubber roof cleaner on one section at a time, brush clean, and then flip the water on for rinsing. Now for the problem...the hose always wants to slide off the roof. The gravity pull toward the ground on the hose sure makes for a heavier job. I have tried looping it around the different things that are sticking up from the roof, but do not want to damage something by doing this. I don't mind doing this job and it usually takes me about an hour and a half or so. But someone out there must have a solution to keeping the hose from trying to slide back to the ground??? I have also noticed, we have some black streaks where the air conditioner seems to drain onto the roof and then run to the guttering on the side. Trying to get these black streaks cleaned up from the AC is the hardest part of the job. Any suggestions on that would be appreciated. I have researched the Dicor site and after reading all the "do nots" don't want to use any harsh cleaners that might damage the roof trying to get these black streaks off. Thanks for your suggestions.
