Power to the Refrigerator

We have an appointment next week to take our Montana in for some work. The shop has said they are okay with us plugging the refrigerator in to keep things cold. I don't think it is a good idea to run the refrigerator on propane during this time. The shop probably wouldn't allow this anyway. The work will take parts of two days. I see two options: 1) Using the 50 amp power cord with a 50 amp to 30 amp adapter and a 30 amp to 15/20 amp 110 volt adapter. This method with will also supply electricity to the convertor which may actually not be necessary. 2) Opening the outside panel on the back of the refrigerator and directly plugging it in with an extension cord. Which option should I choose? Thanks.

We periodically plug in with the 50 amp Pig -tailed down to 30 then 20 when getting ready to leave home. As long as all other major electrical appliances are off there should be no problem.

I bought a 50 to 20 amp pigtail (about 12" long) from Dyers RV.com, and routinely use a 12 guage extension cord from the pigtail into a 20 amp circuit at home prior to leaving and/or upon return, and that is plenty to power the fridge and converter for a few days. Don't have to drag out the 50 amp cord at all. I do NOT try to run the air conditionner with this set-up, but do plug in a vacuum cleaner when cleaning the rig upon return from a trip with no problems.

I would use the extension cord at night because most 20 amp circuits are elevated and the weight of the anaconda cord may pull the 20 amp adapter out of the receptacle.

I would ask that the shop plug into 30 amp during the day so that the batteries recharge.
