Battery switch info
Does anyone know what the battery switch in the docking station turns on and off? I thought by turning off the switch I would save the battery from going dead. My battery still goes dead even though I turn the switch to off. By chance does the propane detector still operate even though the switch is off? Is the switch not the first component the positive cable is attached to. My Montana is a 2012 3100RL if that makes a difference. The trailer is new and we are trying to figure out its little secrets.

Vetten - I also have a 2012 3100RL. Last fall when we stored the Montana away for the winter I turned off the battery switch and it killed everything. When we picked it up in the spring the battery still had juice in it. You might try tracing out the wires and see if something isn't hooked up right. Can't help much more then that, Sorry!
By the way....We just love the 3100RL floor plan. Very livable and comfortable.

I have never turned it off but my understanding is with the switch off all DC inside is off. The slide pump and electric front legs are wired from the battery.
Someone will be along with a more positive answer but this is what I think happens.
If you turn it off and look at the light on the detector that should tell you if it is still on.

The way these things are built, I doubt they all come out the same. With the 12v power on, look for the little green light on your propane detector...it will be on. Go back and turn off the 12v power, the light should be off. If the light is not off, remove the negative cable from the battery.

The remote control board in the battery compartment is still energized even with the battery cut off switch engaged and it will drain most batteries. When I added a second battery, I also added a marine type power switch (isolator) where I could select either battery, both, or none. The only way to truly isolate the battery is by installing a cut off switch at the battery itself (or disconnect the battery terminal).

We have a 2006. 3400RL. I don't recall seeing a remote control board. Is that something in the newer models?

The remote is in the newer model, it controls electric awning, front legs, rear stabilizers, slides, scare light and probably something else that I forget!

Thanks for the info. The remote board makes sense to me. Best thing is to install switch right at the battery.

Pat,
Most likely the security light left ON via remote. As Bingo said, the remote control circuit board gets it power before the Battery Disconnect.
If the you turn the security light ON with the remote, you have to turn it OFF with the remote. The security light has two circuits, one from inside via Battery Disconnect, and the other directly to the remote circuit board.
