under-couch drawer?

Does anyone know how to remove the drawer? we have the 12' wraparound sofa in our living area, with large drawers at each end. The inside of it needs to be cleaned - I am trying to figure out if it is mud or mold - but I can not reach all the way to the back of it.

or, if it is a pain to remove, does anyone know what the material lining is? It feels like it might be felt, but that just seems like a crazy material to line a drawer that just seems to be screaming, "I am a shoe drawer!". I don't want to use a spray cleaner on it, if it is felt.

Most of these have a "lever" inside of the track that will release the drawer, but I find them a pain to get back in place.
