Soft Floor in Slide out

I have a 2008 and the floor in living room slide out under the dinning table seems very soft and it bounces - like there is a break in the flooring. Just in that section - the floor under the counch is firm. The table bounces all around when we sit down. Cannot see a problem with the slide out per se - seems to be floor. Anyone encountered this issue? Solutolns?

I have a similar issue with mine. Mine appears to be a flimsy floor material. I have heard of others who have slid a piece of plywood under the rug/table/chairs to stiffen it. We just live with ours and are very careful when sitting down or leaning on the table.

Ours is the same way. My inspections under the carpet have not reveiled any problems. I have rationlized in my mind that it is just the way we place weight on that floor. Around the couch the weight of sitting down is spread over the length of the couch as well as the width of the legs. At the dining table you have just the four legs of the table or the chair or about 4 sq. inches. We are also further out on the slide when at the table. Jim

I don't know what that is all about. We have read many post about that on this and other forums. Our 3400 is not like that and we have looked closely at units on the line at the factory and they all look to be constructed the same.. Yes If we bounce on the slide floor it will move as it just hangs out there but normal at the table and we are solid????

Ours is like that. We were told by the Service Center they went to a thinner flooring material. Supposedly it is just as strong but I find it startling to step on that floor. If we have a very full glass of water on the table, just stepping on the floor will cause spillage. You can visually see the table dip. I weigh 178 so it's not that I'm unusually heavy.

We have far more bounce in that slide on this 2007 3400RL than we had in any slide of our 2003 3295RK or our 2001 2880RL.

Someone on this forum a couple of years ago added another layer to the flooring. I don't recall who it was but maybe if you search you could find what they did.

I have a 2007 -3400 and mine is the same way. Gives when you step on it,I noticed it just the other day,I normaly do not sit on that side. Sounds like they are all that way. I did go to staples and got one of the best rug protecters large one and put it under the table and chairs and re secured the table,it protects and gives more support.

Thanks - kind of where we are too. I was thinking about the plywood idea - may try it in the off season. Certainly a design error by Montana

our 08 Big Sky 340 RLQ (same layout as 3400) had the same problem. Keystones fix was to have my dealer layer another sheet of 5/8 plywood on the existing and screw it down. Problem gone and only a little higher lip under dining room chairs. They pulled the chairs out and the couch and reinforced the entire slide floor like that so there would be an even floor all the way across. It worked but I thought it was a cheesy fix. Even though it did work...Dave

What is probably going on is that the factory needs to save money and weight when building theses units so they laminate a piece of foam board between to pieces of 1/8 inch Luann the floor is probably only 1 1/4 inches thick. that is why you have the bounce. My 06 3650 had 2 floors this way and I built all new floors of laminated plywood same thickness and about 50 pounds heavier but I do not have to worry about my drink spilling when I go to sit down in my recliner.

Ours is the same way. The material does give with weight as it is relatively thin, therefore cutting costs and weight. Not to much one can do about but live with it.
