toilet flush ball issue
Think I'm in trouble here. The flush ball in the toilet just opened the opposite way and it will not close all of the way. Any suggestions? It is a Sealand Toilet.
thanks!

Wow! Sounds like you ave a broken lever on the flush mechanism. Try putting the handle of your bowl brush in and applying gentle pressure to the flush lever

There should be a panel on the lower side where the flush level is. It should pop off and expose the flushing mechanism. You may be able to see what is broke or stuck.

Different problem.. My flush lever goes down and back up.. But leaves a tiny gap letting residual water drain from the bowl. Fine if we remember to lift the lever with a toe. Warranty.. But currently out of state.
Can the lever spring be retensioned?

Sounds like the spring pack went. Not hard to replace at all.

Bill, You need to let the foot lever really slam back. With it to the floor for flush just take your foot off the lever don't try and feather it closed. Once it slams back you can raise the lever to allow additional water in the bowl if you so desire. Jim

I have a Thetford.. Don't see a model.. But the lever doesn't slam back.. Just a nice controlled return. Also, lifting the lever does not add water. Told DW toilet it return and lift the peddle with her foot.. It does seem to work for me.. But was wondering if there was an a tension adjustment.

If the spring pack popped apart don't even think about trying to take it apart to put back together. I spent the better part of a day trying till I figured out the thing is less the $20....

If it is still under warranty call thetford. They replaced mine. Call even if you think it is out of warranty. Ditto on the spring pack. Had a Thetford tech try to talk me through it and we both gave up.
