Question FL375 MBR slide-out 12 v circuit.

I have a light on the 12 volt fuse panel for a circuit, and it won’t go off with the new fuse. does that mean there’s a short in the circuit? What’s the best way to find the short? Any help would be appreciated!

A red light on below one of the fuses means the fuse is open on a circuit that is switched on, like light circuit with the wall switch turned on. On our panel, the red lights are not directly below the fuses, but offset a bit, so make sure you are checking the correct fuse. There might be a short causing the fuse to blow, or you may have just overloaded that circuit. It is also possible that when replacing a fuse on a circuit that is shorted, that the fuse can blow when installing it and you might not notice it.

No bad fuse

The fuse is not bad. Is it then safe to assume the wires are shorted together (pos. and neg.) somewhere?? (We've had mice!)

It can be rodents or just about anything like a misplaced screw to wires being mis-routed and pinched or cut. The first direction I would go in would be opening all boxes, with a switch or behind a light fixture to see if a connection came apart that could be shorted. I've had a couple of incidents where the crimp connection was poorly made and just had to be remade, but did not get to the point of being shorted to a ground, but was close. Beyond that, it's a guessing game, but you would need to isolate all the runs between splices to find where it might be if it isn't a bad connection.

If fuse associated with that light is good, the problem must be in fuse box itself. The light is in parallel with the fuse. If fuse is good current goes through fuse and none through light.
