I wouldn't waste the money. I had dual pane windows in a Tiffin Alegro Bus 10 years ago and every one of the had to be replaces in the first year because of moisture between the glass, broken seals!

The double pane windows on RV's are Not what you think. They are Misadvertised as such. They are laminated glass much more like your windshield. True Double Pane Windows have the a metal frame and a gap space between both panes of glass usually filled with Argon gas.

We have them and love them, helps with condensation there quieter and do add a little R value. They are not gas filled like a motor home so no need to worry about any seals failing. The only bad draws are, they are expensive if you need to repair them. Their heavier and must be special ordered at the time of purchase.

We winter in North GA so we do get colder temps and run the furnace quite a bit. Our last SOB had single pane and the furnace ran often and we struggled to keep warm with added heaters and also condensation on windows.
Ordered the double pane on the new Monty and the furnace runs just a little less but we are much warmer as we don't have those cold spots at all the windows creating drafts. We also have no issues now with condensation. It does seem a bit quieter also.
I can't say how much of the improvement is from windows and how much may be just a better insulated rig but we are much happier now and I would order them again.

We never had them on both Montana's. We have not had noise issues and if we did I would turn down my hearing aids. We keep in moderate climate year round so do not have heat or cold issues. We probably spend more $$ staying in Moderate climates . If you like them buy them.

On my fourth winter NW Arkansas - single pane & 30pt dehumidifier - very comfortable with no problems.

I have single pane windows. Next RV will have dual or thermopane windows.
Warmer, cooler, quieter...
I second that.

We are stuck full time in the middle of the desert so any help with the heat would be welcome. $1500 would be a very small price to pay if it helps control the temp even a degree or two. Heck we are adding a third A/C just to get 5F cooler. Those of you who have never stayed in the desert for extended time frames would not understand but it's a VERY big deal. Not likely we will add them to current unit but on our next one will if it helps.

So I am interested in just how much help you would get single vs double pane with the HEAT?

If you are considering dual pane windows in a fiver simply to help in hot climates, I'm wondering if having a mobile window tint business do your windows really dark would accomplish about the same thing. That plus retractable window awnings would probably help more than the extra thick windows.

A local window manufactor here runs an advertisement where they put a heat lamp on one side of window and then measure the temperature on the other side. They do this on a single pane and then on their dual pane window. There is a substantial difference between the two, of course these have the void in between the two peices of glass. It would be interesting to see this test done on an RV dual pane window. Maybe take the reading an inch away from the glass because I would think that two peices of glass without the air gap would transfer the heat equally after being subjected to the heat source for a while.
