We bought the Furrion S5 and had the camera installed in the factory mount that came on the trailer. It's worked great. Never had any problems with reception. Wouldn't tow without it.

My solution for mounting Haloview MC 7108...see attached. Just to review we have a 2008 2995 rl and TV is a 2016 GMC Denali HD. Neither are pre-wired for a rear view camera.

That's an interesting idea.

Using ours this past week, I've discovered that I need an external antenna to get a little better reception. That's because I can't use the windshield mount, AND keep the antenna vertical. I have to make it horizontal to clear the windshield.

I wonder if I hung it from the rearview mirror, if I could get the antenna vertical again. I don't need the rearview when the 5er is attached.

Hummmm...

I haven’t tried it yet but I am assuming (you know what they say about doing that..) it will work. Before I had setting low on the console and it worked fine (4 bars) regardless of how I had the antenna. In the position shown the antenna is horizontal but is up high against the headliner, so I am not anticipating a problem. Next trip is not till Feb. I will report after that.
At any rate for the cost of a couple of the smallest bungee cords it is worth a shot.

I have the Furrion back up camera but did not get a chance to try it out yet.
But I do have 4 surveillance cameras set up and found a nosy neighbor checking us out.

Our 381th came with the Furrion 5S observation system installed in the factory mount on the rear of the 5th wheel. Drove 300 miles home and backed it into the garage with no problems. It was nice to see the rear of the RV when backing into the garage. Monitored the rear of the 5th wheel all the way home. I like keeping a eye on whats going on behind my rig. I wanted the rear observer system as well as a TPMS for all the tires of the RV and would not change the decision to have those installed should we replace this RV at some point in the future.

I emailed the company that I got mine from, and they sent me the external antenna.

We used it this past weekend for the time on a long trip in it new truck, and I am very very pleased with the reception, the clarity on the monitor, and the speed of the update on the monitor.

They only issue that we have with it is when we are in populated areas, or in areas where there might be a lot of reading interference, like a refinery that we followed for a couple of miles. We still get a picture, but the refresh is not as fast, and it will cut in and out occasionally.

Otherwise very happy for sub $200, 7" HD screen...

Just installed

Installed the haloview observation camera and two side cameras. When I put tow rig into reverse I lose signal from rear view camera.

Probably due to the power source it's connected to in the rear lights.

Fixed

Checked everything I could think of, found that the trailer charge fuse in truck was blown. Replaced it and everything works great now. Now have to go back out and reassemble the trailer.:blush. Thank you for responding to my question.
