Carol and Al, have a safe trip and everyone else have a safe trip too.
Wish we were traveling south too. Next year plan on doing just that!

when we hit the hard road again yesterday, we were more than happy we sat out that storm, Arkansas was FLOODED! water everywhere, all farmer's fields, standing water. Stopped for lunch around Little Rock, they said it rained HARD all day. Yep, was much better to sit that out!
We are in Texas now. sitting in Ore City, in a great campsite, free, great hosts, and just discovered that our host and I are related, wayyyyyyyyyyy back in Virginia! I got me a new cousin thanks to the MOC!!

Ore City? Now, who do we know who lives in Ore City? I'm sure you do have great hosts, and it is nice that you discovered that they are relatives.
Continued safe travels! ...and our best wishes for the New Year to you and your hosts!

Aren't you close to padrew? If you have time, check out those Corp of Engineer campgrounds around Lake O' Pines. They're great! You'd also enjoy a visit to Jefferson City. Lots of history there. Have fun and safe travels to the RGV. Lots of rigs heading south as we drive north on I35. And there will be more after the football games are over!

Seems that we have a few good guessers, yes, David and I are related on a surname of Basye, way back in VA. I believe that Al wants to be related to Shirley, wowie, is she a good cook, but, we all knew that from the recipes she posts!

I wasn't going to "tell tales out of school" about our guests from Michigan on the way to the Valley, but now that the secret is out....
What a pleasure it is to have Al and Carol here for a couple of nights. Carol has helped me find some important information about my ancestors. She is a real expect in genealogy. We are having a great time sharing all our hobbies and electronic toys.

Glad to hear that all of you are having a great time. We missed seeing David & Shirley last Feb. because we were in Ft.Worth for a wedding when they were here. Look forward to seeing them on the road. Al & Carol you folks drive safe coming to the RGV. Weather has been nice the last couple of days. John & Marge
