2018 375FL Montana High Country
Hi! We picked up our 375FL a couple of weeks ago and LOVE our new rig!!!
But, we can't figure out how to turn on the small yellow/orange lights above the doors. Also, how do you open the shade on the skylight in the kitchen?
Thanks in advance for your help😊

Welcome to the forum! May your new rig bring you many years of wonderful memories. On our new rig the switch for the porch lights are in the main pannel labled Porch. We don't have a kitchen skylight, but if it's like the shade on our entry door there may be a flange on one end and you just slide it across. The one on our door, of course, slides up.

We just picked up a 353RL last week. It also has the skylight. Our dealer said it was manual and you have to have a long rod to reach it

Porch only turns on the clear lights, not the orange one.
But thank you

We also have a new 2017 353RL and can't figure out how to turn on the orange light directly above the door outside. None of the switches in the main panel turn it on. We thought maybe the bulb is blown.

We wondered about that too, but it looks ok. Also do you have a switch in your panel that is marked SCARE? We can't seem to figure out what it does. Hope you are enjoying your new rig as much as we are!!

When we turned on the PORCH switch, we didn't see any lights come on. That's why we figured the orange light bulb was blown. I guess we need to check out the lights at night next time.
The SCARE switch operates the large round white light mounted on the door side at the front (at the very top - over the hitch but on the side) on ours. I guess they call it a 'scare' light because it's so large and (I assume) bright.
We've only camped in ours once - still learning everything about it. So far, we love it!

Btw, regarding the skylight shade, our salesman told us you need to use a broomstick and pointed at the kitchen chair (jokingly). I'm really not sure I like the skylight, especially since it's too difficult to open and close. Kind of useless...and I'm sure a potential future leak.
I did, however, research blinds.com about installing a motorized (electric or solar-powered) cellular shade. I just don't know yet if they can make them as small as our skylight is - and still function. There may not be enough room in the opening.

Dkeel72, I had my husband just now pull the bulb out and it IS blown! Big time. He said the bulb number is 1141 and it looks just like a single-element auto taillight bulb (#1156). We had a spare 1156 and he just put it in and it works!
Interesting if your bulb is blown too.

That's funny, our porch light was burned out too, shortly after we bought ours. I think rain water intrusion may be to blame. Either that or cheap chinese bulbs.

Yep, ours was burned out also!! But it was too close to the lens and melted a part of it. Rick just bent it away from the lens and replaced bulb and it works great now.

My husband said the orange cover on ours didn't seem to fit tight. After replacing the bulb, he was able to snap it in place better, we hope.
Very interesting that 3 of us had the same problem with this light first time using the RV.

I've replaced the porch light bulb in ours three times in two years. The last one is an LED. Hoping that one will last a little while longer.

Hmmm. I wonder if water gets in. Good idea about using LED. We will try that if we have to change it again. Thanks Army Nurse.

Well, a little over 2 months and the bulb has blown again. I will try using an LED this time and possibly add silicone around the light cover.

Welcome to MOC You should have a red switch in the control panel just left of the light red switch for your owning light switch. As far as the sky light shade stand on a chair.
If the porch light is burned out put in an LED and some silicone around the top of the
cover. I changed all are lights to LED right after we bought ares. Have fun with your new Rig you will figure it all out.

Since we so not have a newer unit and the sky light shade, we have the Fantastic Fan up there. Might I suggest you try to find one of those extending rods that one uses for the old style awning pull down. You should be able to reach that shade to open and close it pretty easily.

We just bought a 2018 375FL used - looking forward to using it in an RV park on a lake, parked permanently. How is your doing now?
Thx,
Greg
