Washing mach.
Hello from Buster & June
We have a 2013 3400RL factory ready for a clothes washer.
We have been thinking of installing a washer only and wondered if an apartment size washer will work?
Are there issues we should watch for. Is the washer really worth it?
Will it need to be fastened down?
Thanks
Buster

I think the apartment sized washer will work. If you travel over many rough roads, I think it would be wise to fasten it securely. I would be certain I could turn water on and off easily. Home washers have plastic water solenoids

We had the washer/dryer combo in our 06, but the wife preferred to go to laundry places along the way when traveling so we didn't get one in the new unit. She didn't care for it because it only did smaller loads and was slow since it was both washer and drier.

We have the combo splendide. At first we where going to get just the apartment size washer and hang out our clothes. About half the price. Thought about it a while and decided to get the combo for rainy days and the tidy whites. Glad we did! There are numerous cg who do not allow laundry lines and love the dryer as much as the washer. Ours is broken for the last month ( power surge... No fault of washer) and it's like taking away a teenagers cell phone. We are dying to get it back. We love it!

We have the combo and have gotten used to the smaller loads. I just do a load every day or two. We might be trading for a Big Sky that will allow for the stackable. I wouldn't be without a washer/dryer because we full-time and I hate laundrymats. I had to use them when I was younger and thought nothing about it, but I have a friend whose son got staph from the laundry on an off-shore drill rig. Now, it gives me the heebie-jeebies. I know some use the apartment sized units and we thought about going that route in the Big Sky. The only issue is that they use a lot more water.

We have the combo, did not want to lose the storage space required for a stackable. You get used to the smaller loads. The D/W hate CG laundries...we've been in some that are really filthy.

Don't know if you part time, long time, or full time. For us being full time the washer/dryer units were a requirement. Our units are fastened down.

We are only part-time, vacationers. I had only 2 must haves in my new fifth wheel when we were looking and one of those must haves was a washer/dryer. So glad I have them now. We have the stackable Splendide units and I will not have another RV without them. They do an excellent job.

We like our Whirpool stacked washer and dryer. Use them exclusively when we travel. That's why we got them.

We have the Splendide combo and love it. Well worth the investment.
