LIGHT SWITCH REMOVAL

The light switch in the bathroom does not always turn on the light without turning the switch off/on a couple times.

I need to remove the switch from the wall to inspect it. How do I remove the switch from the wall. There's no screws visible. Also, do I just pull the bathroom fuse to kill the power to the switch??

On mine, the faceplate pops off and there are two "wings" that swivel in or out like on the plastic jboxes used on old construction stick house rewiring.

Yes, on the fuse, just make sure you have the right one for sure.

Had this happen a while back. Yes, the face plate pops off (well, gently pries off) and there are two things you squeeze to get the switch out after disconnecting the two wires.

I unplugged from shore power and disconnected the battery. Totally killed power in the rig.

Replacement of the switch did the trick. Just recently did the same with the overhead lights in the living room. Had gotten a few extra switches from the RV place a while back, since it is about 20 miles from here.

Good luck!

Philp-P,

I just pulled the bathroom fuse in the fuse box. To remove the outer cover of the light switch in the bathroom use a knife to work behind the cover & slowly/gently work the cover off. The switch itself is attached to the wall with 2 screws just like in your stick house.

I just took the light switch out of the wall. Nothing to see or do. The switch itself is sealed. Nothing to clean. The wires are the knife type connector. I wiggled the wires, flipped the switch 10 or 12 times & re-installed the switch. Replaced the fuse & everything seems to be working better than ever. Just for safety sake I'm replacing the switch on Monday.
