Shoes, Shoes and more Shoes

Here is something we stumbled across down in the boonies of Kentucky. We saw a tree once in Arkansas that had several hundred shoes that was up in it. We couldn’t figure that out and we certainly can’t figure this out. Got any clues?

We've seen fenceposts topped by bowling balls during some of our travels. Bowling balls . . . shoes . . . probably a "doing my thing" deal on someone's part!

Once we went full time the number of shoes we had to get rid of would have made a nice work of art. Maybe a full timer went by and was an expert at ring toss.

Did you find any beer bottles at the bottom of the fence posts?

Isn't there a tree full of shoes near Quartzite? I seem to recall my dad telling me about it...

Its my understanding that the shoe trees are senoirs graduating that year from high school and for some unknown reason to me its a thing they do for graduation. Seniors do this yr after yr and the shoe tree continues to grow shoes......lol

There is a shoe tree on the western part of US 50 (the loneliest highway in the country) between Austin and Fallon, NV.

I don't remember hearing of one in Quartzite. Hopefully, one of our "round-up" MOCers will jump in with that.
