Let me see. Currently in my shop I have 2 Ford pickup's and a Ford tractor. The pickup's are a 1950 F-1 with an original flathead in it that runs and a 1941 Ford F-1 pickup that I am putting a 1965 Mustang engine in with a C-4 automatic transmission. I haven't got this one done yet. As soon as it warms up enough to work outside, out to the shop I go. I also have a 1954 Ford Jubilee. It was only made in 1953 and 1954. It is in good working condition. In my son's shop, we have an El camino, a 1977 vette, a chevelle, 4 yamaha snowmobiles 2 or 3 motorcycles and a 4X4 John Deere that my grandson plays on..... I also have a Japanese moped that I ride up town for parts, once in a while. Oh I just about forgot. I have a 1964 Honda Mini-Dream in my shop in restoration. The frame is in the body shop at this moment being painted.... JB

I miss my 68 E-Type Jaguar. Bought it in 1976 before getting married. 10 years and 3 kids later the car wasn't getting driven so I sold it. Kids are grown now. Maybe time to get another one? Nope - too expensive now>

Steve I almost got killed in a red 63 Impala SS 327 300 horse coupe. 4 of us were going to school one morning when a tractor trailer pulled out in front of us. We managed to miss it but it was close. I wasn't driving but we were traveling at over 100 MPH.

That's scary, Lynwood. I have no idea whether mine would even do 100 mph. Probably it would. But when I bought it I was in the mid-life crisis period and just wanted to enjoy driving it, top down. When I bought it, it was an oil burner. Serious oil burner. Like one quart every 30 miles or so. I replaced the engine with a used one after finding out 1) the engine was not the original, it was an old 265 out of a '55 or '56, and 2) the valve guides were seriously worn, to the point that liners were no longer an option. It was cheaper for me to replace that engine than to try to locate decent heads for the 265. Since the 265 was not available in 1963 for the Impala, I wanted to go with either a 283 or 327. The one I found was a 283 so that's what I had in it, even though it had the 327 flags on the sides. I really enjoyed driving that car.

My very first car was a 1957 Chevy. It was a real lemon and I could not afford the constant maintenance on my high school working after school budget. So I sold it and bought a 1953 Chevy BelAir that threw a rod about 3 months later (probably my fault). I sold that to a junkyard and bought a 1958 Ford with 105,000 miles on it and drove it for two more years.. Still, I'd sure like to have that '57 back now.

Yes Steve it was a little scary. The boy that was driving came from a fine Christan hard working family. I think he loved a thrill so much he spent most of his life in prison for steeling, and that is where he died. What a shame.

I traded my '56 Chevy 6 cyl beater for a pristine '58 with a 283. We had priveleges in the base auto hobby shop and a friend of mind helped me rebuild it. We pulled the engine and took it to a speed shop and they bored it to 301, bluprinted, full race cam, Holly 850, and a Hurst shifter. It would outrun any 348 around and all the 327's also, although it was a much heavier car. I did have to put a splatter shield over the tranny as my friend thought I was going to blow it up. Cathy was a WAF at the time and I let her drive it to her barracks. When she parked it she forgot to set the emergency brake and it rolled across a street and into a field, luckily no damage. I gave her some OJT on using the emergency brake. A couple months later she had it down pat, so I married her, been together since. That was 1969. The only real muscle car I owned.....Would love to get another and finish my childhood.......

For daily drivers I had a 1961 Pontiac Ventura with a tri-power,348hp,389 cubic inch and a 4 speed and a 1969 Mustang Mach1,428 Super Cobrajet, shaker hood scoop and a 4 speed. Drag raced a 32 Bantam roadster with a 392 Hemi and Weber carbs, 426 Hemi with Hilborn fuel injection. Next was a 1967 Camaro with a variety of engines, ended up with a 383 cubic inch, 650hp small block, best run of 9.61 seconds,140mph in the 1/4 mile. Had to sell that as it got too expensive to keep going.

I forgot one. I had a 1968 Datsun 2000 Roadster. 2 liter, dual carburetor, five speed. I was told that for 1968 only 500 were sold to the public, just enough to qualify it as a stock car for Australian road racing. I bought it used. Top speed was in theory in excess of 135 mph although I never took it above 110 as the front end got a bit light at that speed. That was in 3rd gear (of 5 gears).

This picture is not of mine but is identical other than mine did not have the roll bar and the rims are different. Unfortunately pictures of the one I had are in storage. What was strange about this car is the turn signal stalk was on the left side of the steering wheel. Down for left, up for right. It's like they "Americanized" the car by just moving the driving controls from the right side to the left side.

My first car (which I wish I still had) was a 1970 Pontiac LeMans Sport Coupe with a 350 (pontiac engine) and a floor shift automatic. The collectible cars that I currently own are:
1957 Nash Metropolitan Convertible Yellow and White (restored to original)
1960 Metropolitan Convertible Red and White (restored to original)
1960 Metropolitan Covertible Black and White (pretty much restored to original)
1960 Metropolitan Hardtop (Right Hand Drive) to be restored to original as when the Burbank Police Department used it for meter maid duty.

Carlie I love your cars especially the Camaro and the 61 tri power, it was like mine. Very few of the tri powers were built and to find 2 people here is a little unusual. My 61 had a 3 speed on the column. It was a heavy duty cast iron box.

I started in High School, so was called a gear head from the start. I used to go with my Uncle at 10 yrs old to The drag races& shows In California. I started restoreing 1950's Trucks F1s,had three models. 51,52,53. Then I had a 59 thunderbird, 61 catalina. 57 ford fairlane. 64 Grand Prix. 1952 Harley Davison service car took 3 yrs to find all the original parts. 49 chevy coupe.1936 ford pu,1940 pymouth coupe,1940 ford Deluxe coupe the last one took six years and 3,400 hours of my time, not counting the time for professional Upholstery and 1 yr at the Paint and body shop. During its five years at shows it won 29 awards. So I have had a lot of fun with my cars. I even made it to Barrett and Jackson Autions 2002 in person which was a treat. I hope to settle down in my late 60's and build a couple more, if the projects don't get to pricey again.
