Glenn,
In the booklet of instructions I received, they neglected to print the last step. After entering code and the lite on the AV1 or whatever flashes, you must press Select.

Glenn,
I have the exact same issue with the volume control on my DirecTV remote. If you get yours to work, would you please report the step by step instructions....I too have no patience when it comes to electronic devices or anything else for that matter.
