Porch Light Bulb

Sticks in my mind that the porch light bulb is hard to find.
Mine is burned out & I am going try a local RV dealer here in Moab, UT. Does anyone know the number for the light bulb?

If you mean the "scare" light (the big round white one), I think it's a #1295 and I haven't found one yet at the normal (cheap) places like Wal-Mart and auto supplies. There was a thread on here that listed a place to buy by mail or Internet. Search for 1295. If you are talking about the yellow rectangular "porch" light, then I think it's the easy-to-find 1156 or 1157 auto bulb.

Thanks VanMan. It is not the scare light, it the yellow bug light.

I regards ot the scare light reply, I'm not positive about the bulb number for the scare light, but I do know it is a 40 watt bulb. I replaced one of mine and found it here in the midwest at local O'Reilly's Auto Parts Stores.

I've been meaning to open mine up and take the bulb someplace to match, but it's low priority - hardly ever use it anyway.

I looked up at the porch light above the RV door to see how the rectangular cover comes off to get to the bulb. I expected to see a screw holding it in place - and no there is not. Does this cover pop off or pried off orrrrrrrrr? Before I break it too. There are no instructions from Montana.

The cover has two tabs on the top and bottom. To get the cover off you pry up just enough to clear the tabs. Like you said just be gentle and don't pry anymore than necessary to remove it.

It wouldn't be an 1157, that's a dual element bulb for tail/brake light combos. Had a time with an interior 12v bulb, had to order it as the parts store wasn't stocking it either.

I was loading up this evening for our third trip in our 2006 3400 RL and the yellow light that is above the steps isn't coming on. I wouldn't think that the bulb is going out so quickly. Anyone have a problem with theirs in three months? If it is just a bulb and we can buy it some where we won't be hauling it back to the dealer.

It is just an automotive type bulb, you can buy them anywhere. Pop the lens off, mine comes loose once in a while.

Colleen, I was able to purchase a replacement bulb at a local RV repair service - 2 bulbs under $2. I took the original with me. There was a number on the bulb when I took it out. However, it rubbed off immediately - I recall the number to be C19? , but I am not sure. I have emailed Keystone for the number.

The actual replacement bulb you are looking for is a 1295. It is has a brightness @40 watts. You can use an ordinary 1156 tail light bulb, but it won't be near as bright as they are @25 watts. O'Reilly Auto Parts stores carry them as well as Autozone in my part of the country.
After looking at the original question, I guess I'm just rambling although for anyone who can say "scarelight"! Ha!

It is not the scare light, which I believe is a white light on the front top sides of the RV.
It is the orange light over the door. The fitting of the bulb is somewhat rectangular, not round.

We just got back from the RV show in Ft. Worth, TX. While there I noticed the porch lights. They are the square or rectangular base now. Our 2000 uses a round base automotive bulb. It never dawned on me that they mayhave changed. I apologize for fueling this thread to 2 pages!!

The round base "amber" bulb is an 1157NA----These are available at most auto parts stores. FYI: these were used in most autos for the front turn indicators so the manufacturers did not have to make amber lenses. Should not cost more than a buck each.
