MHC Residential Refer on Battery

I am going on a 500 mile trip in a couple weeks and want to run the residential refer in my MHC 375RL from battery while driving. I have read this is possible through the inverter but can't figure out where it is located or how to enable it. Can someone help?

Thanks,
Kevin

Assuming your setup is same as ours you will have a 2000 watt inverter running off two batteries. I would unplug from shore power without truck hooked up and see if your fridge is still on as first test.

If not:
There will be a separate battery switch and 150amp breaker near batteries that power the inverter. Make sure switch is on and breaker is good (volt meter will help). If that doesn’t power fridge make sure the inverter is on. There is a button near front plug in opposite where 12volt hooks into it. Most likely inverter is mounted in ceiling of front pass thru. If still no power make sure no blown fuses on inverter (a volt meter can also check for 110 AC out of inverter. If inverter is good there may be an automatic shire power switch between the inverter and fridge. Ours is located right in front of inverter. Checking this switch requires a little more expertise. It isn’t difficult but you need to know what your doing. Hopefully you will find issue upstream of that. Nothing else is hooked to inverter only the fridge

I have heard two batteries can run fridge thru inverter for about 4 hours with no source of recharge. If your hooked to truck you should get a charge from it while it is running thru 7 prong lighting plug. Make sure there is power on the truck plug (again a volt meter is your friend)

Hope that helps

Thanks. I have only had the unit for about 6 weeks so fairly certain the switch is off. Is the switch likely above the batteries? I have what looks to be a round switch in there.

Also, I have removed shore power from the unit and the fridge is not powered on.

Round switch about batteries. Should show as Green. Inverter on DS basement ceiling. Make sure it is on also. With shore power off you can see the fridge powered up.

Glad to hear it.

Make sure you check the charge power pin on your truck light cord connector. It will help if the truck charges the batteries going down the highway.

Enjoy the trip.
