I have the hensley ts-3 air bag hitch rated for 20,000 pounds and 4500 pounds hitch weight. No more jerking or pounding on the truck. I've had it over 2 years with no complaints. This is considered one of the best hitches out there buy quite costly.Good luck with your search.

Agree with hydrahauler, we were in an accident spring of 2015, Tahoe crossed median, clipped his rear fender, blew right front tire, used both lanes and both emergency lanes to get back control, B&W Companion held with no damage. Really like the big jaws.

I may have missed it when I was scanning the thread, but I did not see any mention of the Anderson Ultimate 3220 http://www.andersenhitches.com/Catal...onnection.aspx and be sure to check it out on You Tube. If you have a ball already installed in the bed of your truck this could be the one your looking for. I have been researching my hitch purchase and I think I am going to get an Anderson Ultimate. Good luck with your selection.

I have the Andersen with a b&w turnover ball and could not be happier. I will say, I have no experience with anything other than the Andersen, however it is really easy for one man to remove and replace without an engine hoist, which was one of my deciding factors as I use my truck as truck!

I had a Reese Elite on my last truck and it was a good hitch.I also used the Andersen hitch https://bestoutdooritems.com/best-5th-wheel-hitch/ It' very quickly and easy to install and remove. Lightweight and strong. The one I use hooks up to the gooseneck ball in my truck.

Everyone who has an AUH seems to like\love them. What prevents me from getting one is the fact that it will void my warranty with Lippert if I use one. It will also void your warranty with MORryde if you have a MORryde kingpin.

JeffBA, is there MoRYde documentation that it will void the warranty if you use the AUH?

I installed the B&W after about a year or so of research and feedback.

I just bought the B&W Companion to replace my Reese Elite. Looks strong and awesome and made in the USA.

I will add one more thing and that is most hitch manufactures make a bunch of different hitches to be able to sell them to people with multiple needs for different uses, light weight towing to really heavy weight towing. Some don't really have more than one or two models. In my opinion you need to do your research on the weight you need to tow, the amount of money you want to spend, slider or non slider requirements and warrantees. Then you can decide on a basic hitch to a Cadillac hitch or even one that converts everything to a large ball. Each has their advantages and disadvantages along with costs.
Do some research and then get the best hitch for the money and job requirements that you need.

Sorry I mis-qouoted the MORyde article. It does say "The addition of a Goose Neck adaptor on the Fifth Wheel Hitch may cause damage to the frame structure
and in many cases voids the frame warranty.

This is not the same link I was referring to, but it does contain a warning.
http://www.morryde.com/uploads/downl...structions.pdf

I did call Lippert after seeing a similar warning dealing with MORride and a similar warning while researching the Rotoflex pin box. I asked specifically about using the Anderson Ultimate Hitch and tech I talked to said the only goose neck adapter endorsed by Lippert is the Reese goose box. I was looking to reduce chucking and not have to deal with something really heavy to remove from the bed of my truck.

Jeffba, I looked at the link to be sure I understood how a gooseneck adapter works. I can see why they would "maybe' void the warranty. The forces put a tremendous bending force on the pin box, while the AUH does not. The forces are rendered horizontally in about the same plane, but vertically the "force point" (I'm no engineer) is 6 or 7 inches forward. So not nearly the twisting force on the pin box. I guess I should call morRyde and ask.

I would call Lippert it is their frame warranty that would be voided.

Imagine that! The one that will work costs twice as much as the one that won't. It's a miracle.

Jeff, I read that three times, and to me, it muddys the water even more. He says the AUH is a "Goose Neck" type of hitch. Is that really true?

I suggest you call Lippert and I'll bet they agree that it is.

Although I enjoy the conversation, I am going to bow out until after I talk to Lippert/MorRyde. In retrospect, what we call it is irrelevant, the important factor is where the forces are exerted. In that respect, there is a definite and significant difference between the AUH top ball and its adapter to the pin/pinbox, and the goose neck adapter being solidly attached to the pin box and to the truck at the turnover ball.

Andersen has a 5 million dollar warranty that pays you if you are denied a warranty claim by another manurfacture.Sounds like they w
ill stand behind their product.
