I sent an email to them and all I got was, contact a Goodyear truck dealer. Nothing about even taking my old tires. I will try and call them tomorrow.
I called and talked to a customer representative, I explained that I felt uncomfortable with the Marathons and that I heard that Goodyear has been great standing behind their product and would paid for repairs after a Marathon blew out and damaged the trailer. Like others have said , I simply wanted to avoid the blowout and damage and asked them if we could prorate the Marathons and get a credit towards 614s. Goodyear was all for it as long as i went to a Goodyear company owned store to complete the trade. My price include the tires, mounting and balance bags.

Sounds good Billorn. If I don't like the response to my e-mail I'll try your method.

I'm going thru the process right now as well. I called GY and cried the blues and they told me to take all the tires to a local GY dealer and have them inspected. I have a bubble on one tire that occurred during my last trip of the season last Oct. After all the red flags I got on this site I told them of my concerns. Right now my camper is buried under snow so I'm waiting for a good day to jack it up and remove the tire with the bubble in it. I'll take it up to the local dealer with my file # and see what can be done. Either way, this trailer has made it's last trip on the Marathons, it's just a question of how much I'll have to pay out of pocket to make the change. I agree with the posters who say to just get 4 tires instead of 5. That's a lot of money that you may never need. I'd roll the dice to save some money and fix the bad tire at the first opportunity.

I also only replaced 4 Marathon tires. The spare was new, and like others. figured it could get me to a shop.

I sold the 4 take off's on Craig list for $350. They had 800 miles on them.

Replaced the BOMBS in Nov. with 614s at Blacks Tire in Fayetteville NC. $1340 inc. steel stems, mounted, balanced and tax. And then allowed me a whooping $200 for the BOMBS.

Just placed order with CW, they will contact me when tires come in. I will check the date code and make sure metal stems are used.

I placed this info in another thread before determining it should probably go here...Hope I am not breaking protocol by reposting, anyway for what it is worth

I have a 2012 3100RL with 2000 miles on the Marathons and absolutely no problems, so far. However, based on all the rave reviews the Marathons receive, I called Goodyear customer service to see if they would cut me any deal on some G614s. After giving me a reference number and the number for a local dealer I took the marathons to the local dealer who inspected them and called Goodyear. Long story short, Goodyear allowed $48.62 per marathon for trade in. Dealer then quoted $1240.00 out the door for the 614s after the trade. Still stings a bit for trailer tires, but I told him to get some in. Anyway, Goodyear may be able to help buying new 614s for some folks. Before discussion with Goodyear, the best price I had here in town was $1525.00 for 614s out the door and I kept my Marathons. Maybe could have gotten more for the Marathons on Craigslist, but I'm happy for what its worth.
Greg
