2011 Dodge 3500 Dually 4x4
In the process of buying the truck in the topic. Have called around to finds a new hitch and no one seems to have one for this truck yet. Called Pull-Rite and they said there is a difference between the '10 & '11, the way the bed is bolted to the frame. They don't know when they will be ready to sell the installation kit. Reese seems to be the same way.
Any of you have the 2011 Dodge 3500 dually 4x4 8 foot bed, please tell me what kind if hitch you have. I really don't need the turnoverball of the B&W.
Thanks,
Tom

Tom , does the truck your looking at have a Long Bed ? if so I wouldnt put a Pullrite in it, although they make the best Sliding hitch , there is no need for one in a long bed. If I were you I would be looking at a Trailer saver air hitch, it will make your towing expierience much better and it will save your truck and trailer a lot of abuse, not to mention the wear and tear on you and your wife. They are expensive , but worth every penny when you look in your rear view mirror and see all that movement that would otherwise be transfered to your rig. Good Luck in your quest ..Scott

I have a 2010 3500 Laramie with a Trailer Saver. It mounts on Reese rails. I'm not sure if the 2011 is the same but on mine there were special brackets required underneath the bed (supplied by Trailer Saver). I'd call them to find out the real deal. It's a great combination. I've done several 400 + mile days on crappy road surfaces without any kind of fatigue.
The Trailer Saver should be relabeled as the Driver Saver IMO.

they changed in 2011.the only difference is the brackets from the frame to the hitch.the brackets might have to have an angle or a different bend .if you go to a good trailer hitch shop they can make any bracket needed to make your hitch work.you should not need to change hitches because you bought a new tow vechile

Shooterdad, I'm not sure he's talking sliding hitch. Pullrite makes standard hitches, too, and has for many years.
My 2007 Dodge required that no holes be drilled in the frame. Thus the need for the special mounting kit. I wasn't aware they changed the frame but it appears they did.
Tom, good luck with the new truck. If your experience is like mine (this is my first Dodge tow vehicle) you'll be absolutely amazed at how that Cummins/Dodge tows your rig with so little fuss. It may not be as fast as the others but it'll be around for a long time. It just doesn't work up a sweat.

We took delivery of the 2011 White Dodge 3500 Club Cab dually Laramie 4x4 8foot bed Wednesday night. WHAT A BEAST!! Its really big.
I've been talking to PullRite who says they just made the super bracket for a 2011 and it was just sent to powder coat late last week. The said if I can get the installer to call them to answer some questions about the install, they will send me the frame rails for FREE!!! I am going to get a PullRite 20.5K hitch(non slider).
Now my question to you all that have a Dodge, do you have enough distance between the truck and the trailer without flipping the axles? or lowering your Dodge truck?

Tom,
I didn't have to do a thing to mine and was able to have a 16K Pullrite Superglide installed with the parts supplied by pullrite. Of course mine is a 2009 S/B 2500. You have me a bit envious with the 3500 DRW as this is a more capable platform (although with the same engine as mine). Best of luck with it. I believe you'll find that you made the right choice and will be happy with it.
