Bathroom Vent

We got woke up this morning with sounds on the roof as if someone was trying to get in through the Vent.LOL, What it was is the vent lid has cracked all to pieces and the wind was blowing just right to blow through the vent cover and move them around. What I would like to know is? Is that lid standard or are there different ones. Have any of you had to replace yours if so was it hard to do? Thanks a lot for all information.

Walt,

It's a standard vent lid available at Camping World or most RV Dealers. I had to take the lid in with me to match it up, as there are a few different brands and styles.

We lost ours from a ball of hail. Just like you said, I didn't notice till I heard the pieces blowing around on the screen.

I replaced the one over the bed on ours. Had a hole in it when we got it. Very simple to replace. Remove the knob, then trim and screen, then the actuator. Straighten out the tab on the old cover and slide it off. Install in reverse order. New cover should have an instruction sheet in it.

Get a polycarbonate cover. They are unbreakable and guaranteed.

We installed covers over our vents that allow you to leave them open while going down the road - can't remember the brand.
They also protect the original covers as weather can't get at them.

Laura & Joe
You can sort of see them on top in the picture below.

I installed maxx air vent covers on the monty, will also do the same on the new 3400 when it comes. Saves the vents, and allows you to keep the vent open in rain, etc.

Maxxair vents are great -

Fan-Tastik Vent warns not to install them over the automatic vents. Not sure if it is because of fit, or they are too cautious. Some folks may have already successfully done this.

Also - Make a note of your new overall height once they are installed!

I have covers on both of my Fantastic Fans, they just don't open all the way, about an inch or 2 less.

We have one of the large covers over our fantastic vent. It works fine. As C5racer said, it just doesn't open quite all the way. It has the automatic open/close and it just stops when it bumps against the cover and the fan works as always. This cover is made for the high volume fans.
