Window awnings question?

For those of you who have installed window awnings how much wind can the take? We are camping in the Keys this winter and next on the ocean and have winds at 20 knots and gust to over 30 knots and do not want to be constantly opening and closing them. Thanks for your input.

Don't have them on our Monty, but did on a Class C several years back. Like most things, it depends on the size and also if you've a tie down. The one I put on our C was about 3' wide and I added a second tie down (it came with only one). Camped at Duck, NC on the beach and had no problems in around 30 mph winds. Didn't have the big awning out and don't think I'd have had the window one out if it had been any wider though.

We have two that seem to be able to take more wind than I would be comfortable with and a small one that folds up on the corner if the right amount of wind comes from the right angle. The small one is a problem usually way before I feel the need to take the two larger ones down.
