I saw the strangest thing......

While we were at Topsail I saw a 2011 F-350 towing a Mobil Suites fifth wheel. The Mobile Suites had an air ride hitch on it and the truck sat much lower in the rear than the front. It seems to me it would have been better to put air bags on the truck and inflate them until the truck sat like it is supposed to. The air bags should allow a cushion for the fifth wheel trailer just like the hitch did while allowing the truck to sit properly on it's susspension. I suspect he is probably damaging the springs on the truck.

Sounds more like his truck and fifth wheel are not properly matched (fifth wheel pin weight too high for truck)???

Agreed. Those Mobil Suits are heavy. A lot of the owners towed with a medium duty TV.

Those Mobile Suites are heavy as would be the pin weight. I hope the F-350 was a dually. If the weights are good, then sag can still occur and air bags would help raise the back end to improve the angle and get those headlights back down and out of oncoming traffic.

It was not a dually. Squatting badly in the rear doesn't only mess up headlight aim. It also plays with the overall handling of the truck.

Clearly a case of too much RV and not enough truck. As mentioned, MS 5th wheels are in MDT country.
