Florida Weight Laws

In the Jun 8th issue of Transport Topics is an artcle that Florida Gov Cris signed a bill allowing the state Depart of Transportation to develop a permit process to allow trucks to carry up to 88,000 lbs on non-interstate hghways. The previous law was 80,000 lbs. So you are going to see more heavier truck traffic on state highways than on the Interstates.
Where is the weight police on this one? Do you think I can tag on an extra 8,000 lbs behind my Monty if I stay on the state highways?

Hey! As long as you are not commercial, you don't need a CDL, just the proper license for your 88,000 pounds.
