What's the Best Product??

Please save this new Monty owner some time and tell me what are the best products to use for the following:

Slide Seal Lube?
Slide Mechanism Lube?
Black Tank Chemical?
Gray Water Tank/Galley Tank?

Slide Seal Lube - Spray Silicone
Slide Mechanism Lube - Dry Lube for slides
Black Tank Chemical - Pure Power
Gray Water/Galley - Boraxo

Anyone use the slide lubricant and seal lubricant that Camping World sells? If so how do you like it. I need to get some as I don't know for sure if my dealer lubed them or anything else prior to delivery although I would have hoped it would be part of the PDI.

Buck and Muffin,

Silicone for the seals and dry-lube for the gear packs and the rack that runs across the top of the gears. The main thing is to keep them clean. WD40 will do a good job of controlling corrosion and causing the teeth of the gears when they mesh together from seizing.

As far as the tanks, I use a green liquid I got from Camping World that smells like pine. I don't remember what it is called. I put a couple ounces in each tank with some fresh water after I drain them. It is suppose to help dissolve solids. It also helps keep the inside of the coach "Pine-sol fresh".

I use Pure Power for the black tank. Absolutely no odors or smells, artificial or otherwise. It also digests all toilet paper so you can use softer tissue.

Bob and Nancy, I've been using the products you mention for the slides and seals, including the dri-lube slide lubricant sold at Camping World and some Walmarts. I have said several times in this forum how well it works. And it does. However...

During our recent appointment at the factory service center the tech told me our slide rails are accumulating dirt/grit. He asked what I use for lubricant and I showed him the dry-lube slide stuff. He took that can and sprayed a piece of cardboard, then sprinkled dirt on it. He shook the cardboard and the dirt stuck to it. He said it contains petroleum products. Not good. He then did the same test with a can of lubricant they had in the shop and the dirt did not stick. He gave me a can of this so now I have to find out where to buy more.

What I was using is ProtectAll Heavy Duty Slide-Out Dry Lube. It says it "resists" Dirt, Sand, Salt, and Road Grime, but "resists" is not apparently good enough. The label says it contains Petroleum Naptha, in the fine print at the bottom of the can.

What he gave me is SprayWay (brand), No. 101 Industrial TFE-DRY Lubricant Release Agent. It says it contains a waxy fluorocarbon. It also says, among the ingredients, it contains a "liquefied petroleum gas", which I guess is ok.

There are probably other equally good products out there but at this point I'm not aware of them. So my two remaining cans of the ProtectAll product will be used for the slider hitch and rear stabilizers until gone.

Virgil, I'm not at all surprised. The 2955 is a very popular model!
