sliding only part way out

Does anyone know if there is any harm in sliding a slide only part way out for a short period (in order to access the living room in our 3400RL)? This would be because our rig is close to the deck in the driveway and I don't want to hear a crunching sound when I push the slideout button...

We slide our slide out partway and so far it has not caused any problems. I dont know if it is good or not. Would be happy to hear more info on it.

We do ours all the time. Just remember to close of the selector valves for the rooms you do not want to open. In ours, the slide with the sofa is the last to open, so to get to the rear of the coach, we just close the other three and let her slide with no problem.

Hi Native Tex. I see what your saying. I have the same rig as you and I have some valves in the front portion. Do you simply turn one all the way in one direction to kill the slideout?

We've opened ours partway a number of times and never had a problem with it. We don't "live" in the slides with them in that position but just to get to something I can't see where it would hurt anything. I'm not an expert on that, though.
