Finally De-Winterizing

It's about time the winter decided to quit. I was wondering how much longer it was going to last.

Monty is home and I've started flushing out the anti-freeze and sanatizing the fresh water system. The problem is it's raining in spurts. They're calling for flash flooding in the area for today and tonight. When it rains it comes down in buckets so I'm dodging the rain drops to get it done.

We head out next week so this is our last chance before our first outing to get thigs done. We also have to stock the camper back up. We removed everything for the winter so all must go back. It should prove interesting trying to get it all put back together in a day or so.

Even though we're rushing to get it done I'm still elated that spring has finally sprung and camping season is headed into high gear!

Happy camping to everyone!

Bill

Well we also started to de-winterize..should have known better.. here in Northern Ohio..Thursday and Friday it was in the 60's and 70's..today it is blowing and snowing...Did manage to check out the furnace/fridge/air/hot water tank/etc and take it out for a brake check..at least that is done. Is your 05 350 a diesel..I have the same truck but a V-10.At the start of the year the tow boss package was the diesel and the 4:30 Diff which put the tow rating to over 19000 Lbs.When I ordered mine in Jan 05 you could get the 4:30 with the v-10 which put the tow rating at 16,100Lbs..

We have dewinterized and have it ready to go. We are leaving here tomorrow for Brown County State Park till Friday and then go to Johnson County Park about 30 Miles north of there for our Spring State Camp-out. Don't think it's going to feel like spring

I don't understand this "dewinterizing" thing. But I am glad all of you are coming out to play.

Rich,

The F350 is a 6.0 diesel. It has a combined rating of 26,000lbs. The 01 F350 I had weighed in at a whopping 8,420lbs. Based on that figure the new trucks capacity is about 17,580lbs. The reason I sold the 01 was because the GCWR was 20,000lbs and the camper alone weighed 12,200lbs. So when I loaded the camper I knew I'd be over my capacity by at least 1000lbs. That didn't sit well with me so buying the new F350 with the higher capacity was the ticket.

we went with the V10 for now,,Combined rating of 23,500Lb tow rating of 16,100 so it will handle any of the Montana's. The truck had a ship weight of 6405Lb and we figure it will go 7000/7500lbs with all our stuff abord. We have our eye on the 3295 right now and figure that will weigh in at @ 12.5 K loaded..Agree on having a little left over..Out last truck was pulling right at or a little over capacity and it worked hard on the hills. We will be pulling our Terry TT this camping year @7000/75000 Lbs with no problem....
