I have road in the back of my parents 5th wheel. It was uncomfortable you could hear the brakes being applied it was very load, then you do not have the option to open any windows, it was hot. Now my daughter has ridden in the back of a 5th wheel and all she could talk about was how fun it was. The kids were goofing off with load singing and spying on cars as they drove by, so they did not notice the discomforts that adults would. Given a choice of not feeling well, I think I would rather recline in the TV seat. But this may be one of those situations that one must try (if state law allows) and see if it's o.k. for your own comfort level. For me I give it a

Paul wanted to try it (he laid on the bed) and we drove down the road--straight highway for about 5 miles. When I stopped he said it felt like his liver was going to be shook out!!!. He says that he doesn't understand how the microwave even works after one trip.

Folks I would not want to put any living creature in a trailer of any configuration (TT or 5er) going down the road; more especially my loved ones. I can only imagine how things on two wheels, bouncing down the road, (regardless of how smooth it may look) could only spell a dangerous situation. I would ask that you not do it. I know in Texas and it Alabama where I not reside, it is against the law.

Well We would not do that..however..with the new suspension it may be better . How come we see post about a glass of water or a cup of coffee left on the counter or table not being spilled after 100's of miles???that does not sound bone jarring. I can make no judgment on the newer campers and suspensions and like Steve R would like to give it a short try just so I could make a informed statement on the subject.Aside from it being against the law in most fifth wheels with the slides in movement would be restricted so why would anyone be back there.

I traveled 250 miles with a full cup of coffee in the microwave, didn't spill a drop. Your right Rich, doesn't sound bone jarring to me.

My wife and kids sat back there on a 15 mile road trip one time and said never again. They tried sitting at the table and just playing cards. That was in my previous 5'er that had shocks and a decent suspension as well. Normally road nice and didn't shake anything around inside the trailer. The Montana has the front living room and I would think it would be the most stable part of the trailer up over the hitch and riding on the TV suspension. I'm with Steve, I would like to try it myself someday.

In the 3400 you can only get to the bedroom with the slides closed.You can't do anything in the kitchen... Now you could get to ther bed and take a nap,Think I will try that on the way to the rally..will have radio contact with the driver for a speedy extraction.

I know this sounds strange but I don't drink beer..I don't like the taste of the stuff, never have..weird isn't it. Now if there was a nice cold Brandy Alexander, Black Russian or a tequila sunrise.. that would be a different story.

Scale ingredients to servings

Brandy Alexander
1 1/2 oz brandy
1 oz dark creme de cacao
1 oz half-and-half
1/4 tsp grated nutmeg

Rich's version

Instead of half and half use Ice cream or milk... blend in blender.I can only make these by the blender full.

The black Russians can be a bit strong if you are not a liquor person (we are not) so we prefer a white Russian..add milk..you can also use Rum if Vodka is not to your taste..we do not care for Vodka all that much..

Somehow this tread of riding in a trailer and directions for mixed drinks go together. I suggest slamming down a couple blenders full of Rich's mixed drink before you try riding in the back.

I'm with you Rich, don't like beer. I was referencing more "anything with booze it it" because I think you would need that to ride back there. I'll go for the Tequila Sunrise - like White Russians also. Favorite drink is Long Island Ice Tea but drink Cadillac Margaritas also. Hmmmmm - it is only 1:30 but I bet it is 5 0'clock Somewhere.

Sue..Your taste in mixed drinks is excellent.. The makings and the blender are always on board..lets swap recipes at the fall rally.. When a guy says.."I can't stand the taste of beer" folks look at you funny.

Oh Rich your offer is wonderful but we aren't going to be there. Although Ed said just a few minutes ago, if we sell the mobile home next week we can go to Indiana. He asked if I could be ready that fast and I told him you drop me off at WalMart and go fuel up Brutus and we can do it in one afternoon! LOL It will take a miracle.

I just thought of another reason I'd like to ride back there for a few highway miles - so I could tell just how well the tires are balanced.
