Montana tour

We will be touring the Montana Plant Oct 4(Tuesday) and will be traveling over there the 3rd. We were at the plant last year so know where it is. We are not taking the camper as it is empty and for sale in the driveway.I know that some of you stayed at a motel near the factory. Can we get some info on where you stayed so we can make reservations/// We will be ordering a unit in Jan or Feb so we will be taking a real close look this time..

Rich: A few have stayed at the Motel near the plant. I think Countryguy (Carol and Al) have for one and maybe JLBOZ60 (John and Marge). I am sure they will be along shortly and tell you what you want to know.

Holiday Inn Express is right by the service center, the rates are about $70.00 per night, I THINK! There are a couple of other places up and down 33, but, I do not know the names or the rates. Maybe a search of Goshen via Google will give you some names of places to stay. I know there are a number of B & B's around, saw some while we were driving around, they looked nice from the outside!

Could someone tell me the physical address of the plant? I assume they only give tours on Saturdays. Phone # to call? I guess I could look that up on their website. I don't think Cheryl & I can make it down this Sat (work & other committments), but sure would like to do this this fall sometime. I believe it's about 6 hrs from home here. Thanks, Al & Carol for H.I. Express. Is that a Goshen address?

Actually Dave, the Saturday tours are "special events," like when the MOC holds a rally nearby. The Montana tours are only on Tuesday, Mountaineer on Wednesday (I think) and Cambridge on Thursday. You'll just have to go to the rally if you want a Saturday tour!

If no one comes along with the plant address, I think you can find it on their website ... it's on Hackberry Drive ... I think.

The main building address is 2642 Hackenberry dr, Goshen, Ind.All of the divisions are on hackenberry dr or right around hackenberry dr (Davis Dr) Find Hackenberry Dr and you will find the Montana Plant. We stopped at the 2642 Addresss and they told us all we needed to know..and the tours are on TUESDAY at 1:PM for Montana...
Thanks for the motel info we will use the Holiday express. We are going Oct 3/4.

Dave ... just checked the 2005 brochure we picked up when we were there for the tour in May and the correct address is 2642 Hackberry Drive, Goshen, IN. (I knew it was Hackberry because we had hackberry trees in our backyard in Topeka (one of those memory-helper things) and some of the streets in that complex are named for trees.)The phone number is 574-434-2100. Hope you can get there for a tour ... it's really quite interesting.

The 2642 is correct but the street name is Hackberry rather than Hackenberry. The office at the west end of Hackberry is where you go to do the tour. They then will take you to the plant from there. The phone number is (574) 535-2100. You do not have to sign up in advance. Just show up. Call that number to find the time to be there.

Maybe this map will help with finding the factory office. The east-west road just north of Hackberry, the one that runs all the way across, is CR-38. Turn onto that road to get to Hackberry. Hackberry does not go all the way to US 33. Note this map shows the street number as 17400, which is what they showed on the 2004 and prior brochures. Apparently the numbers have been changed.

Thanks, everyone! I'm saving this info. Actually, during the week is easier for us because Cheryl is mgr/waitress at a resturaunt here in N. Mich and weekends are tough to get away.

Vicki, you're still not mad at me over the Yellowstone volcano thing, are you? I'd hate to show up and get hit. My wife would be no protection, she didn't think that was very funny either!

dsprik..I think you are more like about 4 hours or so away from Goshen..We are 221 miles and we can get there in about 3 hours or so..non-stop without exceeding the legal and posted speed limit...by to much..

We got the first price quote from our dealer today on the 3670 with the options we want. The quote was of course unacceptable. We are talking via the internet only and we will not visit the dealer face to face till we get in the ball park with the price. We will order in Jan or Feb with a delivery date of Mid March or Mid April. Where we are now is the dealer knows we will buy a 3670 Montana and if the price is right ..from him.We will not see the dealer till his internet quote is 28% off MSVRP Hitch Included..that is a starting point..At this point we are not even close. This is the part of buying a camper I love....

I haven't looked that close, Rich. You may be right. I'll check.

Rich, before we bought this Montana I did an online search for every Montana dealer in the country I could find. I then emailed them exactly what we wanted and asked for bids. It turned out we bought within an hour of our home but after I had committed we got another bid that was 2 grand less. We didn't cancel our order, though, but this is one approach you could use if it works for you.

That is the Phase we are in now Steve and a good method to use. Just got another bid today at the Fall RV show for the 3670 list at 52,034.000 and the salesperson said that out of the goodness of his heart he would let me have it at the today only show price of 42,900.00.
I just happen to carry around a printout of the 3670 with the options we want and we said that out of the goodness of our heart, today only, we would give him a second chance to bid on the unit. I am starting with all the Montana dealers in Ohio (not that many) A friend of our just bought that same unit in Aug for 36,500.
