Fantastic fan hood cleaning?

How do you clean the hood over the fantastic fan? Looking out from the inside it has a lot of dust and etc on it. I am not to thrilled about taking the outside vent hood off to clean this!! Any ideas?

Open it... go up on top with windex and a soft cloth....a vacum with a brush cleans the screen well.

A fast fix if you don't have a lot of time--hit it from inside with the full blast of a hair dryer. Will blow a lot of the glunk off until you have time for a proper clean

I did mine today. Complete from both ends. Inside, I removed the phillips heads holding the screen in place. That gave me access to the blades and supports. The screen was washed in the sink before being replaced.

Next, while up on the roof with the cover fully open, it just takes a damp cloth or paper towel. Looks like new.

Using Windex on plastic will fog the plastic permanently. Please do not use Windex on Plastic.

As I read this thread, I kept trying to think how I would open mine from the topside, then realized I have a Maxxi-Air ! duh !! I guess that's one of the advantages of the Fantastic Fan over the Maxxi ??
