A/C cooling attic

I decided it was time to do a little PM on the rear A/C yesterday. Found I was cooling and pulling return from the attic. Luckily, I stuck a roll of foil duct tape in the basement while at the stick house. Looked like they tore the tape from around the duct during install, and the hole where the wiring entered was way too big. I'll seal that baby with some minimum expanding foam soon. Here is a shot of the wiring and here is the duct. Notice to the right side of the duct the hole to the attic, and where the wiring enters you can see the hole in the roof truss. If you remove the cover on the A/C for cleaning, you might want to take a look at this.

We had ours installed by our dealer who suggested they could do a better job at lower price than the factory..they were correct.

Hope you checked on it Rich. I have already had to seal the front unit the dealer installed. They didn't even attempt to seal the return from the attic. I pulled the inside diffuser cover to get the serial # for the warranty registration, and low and behold, wide open spaces.
