stove top burner

We just returned from our first trip in our new Montana and I am puzzled about the left rear stove top burner. The burner lights with the electronic system but it will not turn down or adjust from there, in fact there are no markings on the dial other than light. Anybody else experience something similar? The other two burners function normally. It is on our list of some minor adjustments when we take it back to the dealer, but it has me puzzled so I thought I would ask.

Sharon,
That burner should work the same as the right rear unless they have changed this stove top. All of our RV's have had the same stove top and they have all worked the same. Talk to your dealer.
Happy trails........................

I am hoping that someone comes up with the answer. I am resisting going out in the snow to check ours. I find it unusual that any of the burners are not variable.

This is from memory only but I am relatively sure that our back burner is either on or it is off. I may be delusional, but it seems I remember DW complaining about this.

I'll tell you what I have discovered on mine. The front burner has a greater range of adjustment than our 2 rear burners. And I don't like it one bit. My stove in our other 5th wheel let me have EXACT control over the flame. This one doesn't. If I just think about turning the flame down. Poof, it's out. My dials for the rear burners do have markings on them. It says (in this order) Off, Hi, Lite. So I am curious about that on yours.
I will follow this thread closely to see what suggestions/ideas come up.

Just checked our stove --- all burners can be adjusted although the markings for the back two only say OFF LITE HIGH you can adjust the height of the flame.

Same as Julie, all adjustable. I have the Magic Chef, I can't imagine a burner NOT being adjustable....

Maybe the markings is what she was complaining about. Sorry if I provided faulty information. All it does is provide credence that I should not be in the kitchen anyway!!!! A man's place is over the grill outside!!!

That is my story and I am sticking to it (tongue-in-cheek). If I even try to suggest anything with regards to a kitchen anywhere, I am quickly and firmly reminded that the kitchen is not my domain!! DW rarely grills. When I posted it I thought of the negative connotations that would arise, but thought it would provoke a little fun!!! Inanity is hard to control at times, sorry,

I agree the back burners leave a lot to be desired. You turn them on to light and then turn down by going clock wise, very carefully. There are no markings, it is all by sight. If you get it too low, out it goes. I would love to have the same burners back there as we do in front.

OK, upon closer inspection after your input, the front burner operates entirely different from the back two. I was lighting the back one and trying to adjust it clockwise, like the front one with markings to the word LOW. The back two you have to turn back toward OFF, it sure doesn't give you much range of flame. Why would they make them different?? Even our old Springdale had adjustments to LOW on all three burners. Thanks, for the help. I really do know my way around the kitchen!!

The front burner is suppose to be different. It is a high heat burner. The directions (that came with the stove) explain it.
Happy trails..........................

Sue has validated and proven my earlier assertion that I have no place in the kitchen!!! Directions??? That sounds like an INSTRUCTION MANUAL. Us men (help me here guys) have this allergy to instruction manuals that is instilled in us at birth. That stove was simply not meant to be in my Tim the Tool Man Tool Box!!!!! But (thankfully) I now have knowledge of what to tell DW when she is wondering about the back burners, don't we just louve (couldn't resist) this forum!!

That is what women are for, to read the manual so they can tell the men how to do it! LOL Sorry, but you let yourself wide open on this one.
Happy trails..........................

The front burner on the magic chef(06 Montana) is clearly marked hi speed and has a wide range of adjustments. It does burn hotter and adjust higher than the back burners..that is normal. The back burners do adjust and are marked Off to High lite. These stoves have changed little in 25 years.
