Firestone Transforce HT tire

I'm considering replacing the tires (215-85-16)on my 2006 GMC K3500 dually with a set of Firestone Transforce HT load range E. Just wondering if they're a good tire and if any of you guys have had any trouble with them or should I consider something else?? Thanks.

I looked at them when I needed tires for my 05 dually, but I wanted something with a more agressive tread (to get out of those grassy CC after a rain and to use during that white stuff season) I put on GY Silent Armor (have Kevlar belts) agressive tread, yet very quiet (hey it's a truck after all), and I got excellent wear. They had close to 40K on them when I traded and still looked almost new. First thing I did on the new TV was change out the Michelins for Silent Armors. Have had no problems or complaints.

Compare specs, prices, etc. with the General Grabber HTS ... an outstanding tire in every respect! Tirerack.com is a good source of information.

I have the Firestone Transforce "AT" which have about 20,000 miles on them and no problems thus far other than faulty valve stems.

We are on our 3rd set of Transforce HT- Been fulltiming since 7-1-89 and have not had any failures- We replace our tires after 4 years regardless of remaining tread- We run 80# at all times on all wheels and rotate and rebalance annually- We also run this tire on Monty in 235/85R16E- This size has also been without any problems- Same procedure for replacement and servicing- JHMO- Don

I've got the same tire on my 2001 F250 and while we were down in Texas, some joker told me of a way to get to a private boat ramp on Falcon lake. Well to make a long story short. I buried my truck and boat in "gumbo mud". When I got out to see just how bad it was, I didn't have to step down to get out of the truck. Even my running boards were under the mud. I unhooked the boat and to my surprise, after a little jockeying, my truck walked out of the mud so I could turn around, hook a rope on the boat and swing it around to pull it out.

My point is, I couldn't have done all that with most tires, but these performed above and beyond. If they are not available when I need new tires, I'll probably just set down and cry. BTW, I've got about 20k miles on them and they still look new. About 12k is pulling the Monty with my Ranger Bass Boat on the back of that.

Have them on our TV and no issues. Approx 20000 miles on them, maybe 12000 + towing Monty. Not much wear. Very satisfied. Would buy them again.

The Firestone Transforce H/T is a very good tire, as is the Transforce A/T, and the General Grabber H/T-S. I sell hundreds of them every year, and so far I've not had problems from any of them.

I put the Transforce HT on my Montana. Have nothing but good things to say on this tire.
Did go ahead put on TST Tire pressure and temp monitoring at the same time. Gives me more peace of mind, than to keep checking all the corners for smoke.

I have no experience with them but LonnieB, our resident tire guy and expert, has mentioned them as good tires. There's a current topic somewhere here where he said that. I think the search feature, searching on "transforce" might find it.

OK, I found that topic. Click this link.

I just replaced all four of my trailer tires (SOB) in May with the Firestone Transforce (bought online from Sears and installed by local Sears store) all based on the recommendation of LonnieB on this forum. We have just returned from a 5000 mile trip on those new tires [in addition to a trip to Florida in May].

Thanks, LonnieB.

WOW, they must be good tires, even better than I thought. Remember I said I got stuck in the mud in my last post? Well, I went to have the tires rotated today and the kid doing the job came to me and said, "Did you know you have a pretty good size thorn in your tire?". I didn't know and I check my air pressure, probably, more than most and did never have a difference of 5 lbs at any time in that tire. When he pulled the thorn out the tire went flat. The only place I could have got that thorn was when I drove through the bushes to get out of that mud. They must be made of some high quality rubber. It was the left front and I pulled the Monty 1100 miles then pulled the boat home another 1000 miles, all with that thorn in the tire.

Good information there. I have been researching tires for a month now. It seems that everyone has the best tire on their truck.

We had them on our last Montana and they were great - except for the kid that stuck a pick through the sidewall when he broke into our trailer.
