REMOTE THERMOSTAT "UP-DATE INFO"

UP-DATE UP-DATE UP-DATE
I e-mailed Domectic at there e-mail address that was posted yesterday on the remote thermostat post
Got a call this afternoon from Domectic.
Here is what is up, as far as I know it.
The sensor for the heat and cooling system is located in the air return for the AC unit.
The wall unit as I understand it was suppose to be mounted on the ceiling in the area of the air return on the AC unit.
As I understand it, the wall unit is just a infra-red reciever.
They asked me if I would take the cord they sent me and attach the wall mounted reciever on the ceiling near the fresh air return and see what happens.
Well, to add a note to this , this weekend while in the rain and cold at the beach in Maine, we ran the paddle fan along with the heat and I did not have as great of a heat difference.
DUH, the fan was moving the air around.
So in conclusion as I understand it,
Domectic is stepping up to the plate and there is a possiblity that Keystone mounted the reciever in the wrong location, remember it is just a reciever.

Several of us have tried this "proposed" solution from Dometic with no success. Also, if you think about it, putting the temp sensor in the ceiling would cause more problems than we already have. Hot air rises and cool air sinks. The sensor would read much hotter than down at the mid point of the trailer. A thermostat works by being placed midway up the wall, where a human lives!

Mike,
I agree with you about the heat, that is why we had more even heat with the paddle fan running.
At this point I am ready to try anything.

I certainly understand. I tried everything Dometic asked me to try. I really wanted the remote to work, but it simply does not. The remote is designed by a company called RCP, and Dometic tried to adapt it to their A/C units. They failed in my opinion. Let us know how the test goes! I am very happy with the Duotherm Comfort Control (CCC) system that Dometic sent me as a replacement for the remote unit. Set it and forget it!

I feel your pain as well, but how would one apply the logic if you did not have a ceiling fan. They are optional.
