5 G614s Installed for $716
My Montana got new shoes today, courtesy of Goodyear. Following my Marathon blowout last month returning from Florida, Goodyear has paid for the RV damage and adjusted the price of five (5) new G614s to $716 installed. I hate that the damage was done to start with but glad they took responsibility for it and made it right.

Goodyear did a similar thing for me, but before I had a blowout. Now you can enjoy the trip going down the road. Happy Trails!

Yes, they replaced the spare also. When I talked to the lady that handled my claim, I told her I wanted all five changed because I couldn't trust the spare in the event I had to use it........... she said, "I don't blame you". At the tire shop today, they were talking about how many Marathons they change out but never had anyone come in and get an adjustment from Goodyear for the tires. I told him they probably didn't know to ask. This forum is GREAT!!!!!

Gary, good to hear the successful ending to a bad situation. Seems like Goodyear is stepping up on Marathon tire issues.

Good to hear, but part of the blame should go to the company that installed the Marathons in the first place. If we only new how many of these have blown and caused damage over the years. This issue has cost a lot of people a lot of aggravation and money. If these were passenger tires and mounted on vehicles, how many blowouts would it take before something was done.

I agree with drsmart. The companies that use these tires know all about the blow out problems, and despite this, they continue to use them. I suppose someone will have to die as a result and maybe then something will happen.

Hopefully it won't come to that. I picked up our new (to us) 5th wheel last month and they came with brand new GY Marathons. I was going to have the G614's installed instead, but need to upgrade the rims also. I guess we're on a ticking timebomb with these things, but when I can, we will upgrade due to all the testimonials on this website. I hope it won't be too late when I do.

If you have a 2010 model as your Profile indicates, you should already have rims capable of 110 PSI and suitable for G614's. Check the back of the rims to see what PSI/weight they are rated for.

The "Bad tires" are the Goodyear Marathon. In my case and in most cases, the size is 235/80/16.

We too, are interested in how this occurred - especially if they will take action prior to a claim. May have missed this information on another post, but we will be replacing Marathons this summer - if there is a way to get some consideration from Gyear would love to hear some specifics. If not we go another direction.
Thanks!
