20 days

Left until the 331RLT makes her maiden voyage! Time is moving fast and most likely isn't going to slow down much.

Gail's oldest nephew has announced in the last couple days that he and his "significant other" are driving down to the Destin area the first weekend in April. Of course, that was the weekend we are coming home. ......maybe.

This is the nephew that uses our 2013 22 foot Starcraft hybrid the most we bought 2 years ago for framily. Anyway, got him thinking about hooking it up behind his new to him 2011 F150 and coming down. That's where the ".......maybe" comes in. Thinking there ain't no hurry for us to come home so, might be spending 3 weeks at Santa Rosa Sound RV Resort!!

BTW. Going down and coming back, we are over-nighting at Texas T at exit 27 on I65 just north of the Alabama line. Thanks to some great advise from this group of fine MOCers!

Getting more excited each day! Yup! Even wife because, this is our first annual 40th wedding anniversary trip!

Somebody sounds a wee bit excited. Hopefully the new rig will treat you right, no assembly line flaws, no pesky little issues to deal with, and...it is early. John

Have a great trip, Dale.and Gail. In our first year and a half of retirement, we spent 26 weeks traveling. We hope you enjoy your time as much we enjoyed ours.

Thank you, everyone, for the kind words. Gail has been shopping and we have "stuff" all over the house to load into the new 5er. Going today to order the California king pillow top mattress.

Only 14 days!

Dale, Sure hope the weather breaks so you can escape. We have a new SOB that should be headed South about that same time frame also.

Kind of an update.

Talked to Scott at Tiara yesterday forenoon. Both of us are on the same page. We are to be at Tiara at 9 AM on Monday March 16th.

So far, everything is going as I hoped and planned. At 5 AM Saturday March 21st, the wheels will be rolling.

10 days!!

Well Gang! So far, so good. Took delivery this morning of the Mountaineer. Backed her up our driveway, lowered landing gear, unhooked the truck, pulled it out from under the upper deck and set the level-up. Opened all 3 rooms and hooked up water and electricity. Everything is working right now. Haven't tested the furnace yet but, that will be coming.

Got her half way loaded. As I've said before......the wheels will be rolling at 5 AM Saturday morning. 5 days!

Have fun! Even though we lived in ours for awhile before actually heading out, it was exciting. Our first Winter in FL has been a huge success. Though we will miss the friends we have made here, we are ready to start planing our next move.

OK. Only thing that needs to be loaded is, our clothes. Those will mostly be in before the day is over. Wife is at grocery store picking up a few items for the fridge and cupboards.

Checked pressure in the tires. Adjusted all 4 of 'em from 72 to 78 psi. Checked torque on the lug nuts. They are all at 110 ft lbs. 120 is ideal but, didn't want to stretch any lugs so, made sure they were all at least 110.

As I was down there adjusting lug nuts and tire pressure, I was pleasantly surprised that the Lippert Correct Track system is also a wet bolt kit! This suspension will not be any issue. Ride should be as smooth as a babies behind with the Moride equalizer. Reckon we'll find out Saturday morning.

Tomorrow, the day will be used for house and truck cleaning.

2 days left!

Dale- You two have a good trip and be sure to watch those tires especially since you did not up grade your tires yet! Be sure to pull over a little ways down the road and check those torques on the lug nuts and down the road again just to make sure they stay at the 110. As you know they do have a tendency to loosen as the wheels and hubs warm up! Again, have a good trip and maybe later this year in June you can join us at the Central Plains Regional Rally here in Nebraska!

Rondo and Rames14, thanks for the invites. One never knows where this rig might show up. Especially, the mood wife and I are in. When we bought this unit, it was with the intent of putting way more miles under it than we did with the previous one.

The torque wrench and 13/16" deep well socket ride in the cab with me. The lug nuts will get checked periodically throughout the days we are on the roll.

Got a lot of things to do today!

Less than 24 hours.
